We’re excited to announce the fourth annual Girl Scout University hosted by the Alpha Rho chapter of Alpha Phi Omega on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin!

Girl Scout University is a day for Girl Scouts to learn and explore what STEAM is all about by earning badges and interacting with other girls and guest speakers.

The event will be held April 6th, 2019. Registration is now closed.

There are four two-hour sessions throughout the day of the event. Each session will focus on one of many exciting STEAM badges being offered. Journey sessions for Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors will focus on helping Girl Scouts start the Journey process.  The two-hour sessions will cost $12.50. All materials are provided except for Journey books. The cost of registration includes a patch for the badge completed, lunch*, and an event patch**. Four hour Journey sessions and multi-badge sessions cost $25.

Parent lunches can be purchased for $10 and include a sandwich, chips, cookie, and drink.

Event t-shirts are available for pre-order for $20. They will also be available at the event while supplies last.

*For those girls who attend at least 6 hours of class. Other girls may purchase lunch ahead of time via email. If any of the Girl Scouts have dietary restrictions, please email texasgsu@texasapo.org so that we can work on creating accommodations.

History of Girl Scout University


The first Girl Scout University was organized and hosted by Jennifer Jones and Melody Kelm in April of 2016.

In 2019, Girl Scout University, under the leadership of Kjerstin Hall and Paul Cockrum, was able to expand and offer classes to Daisies and Ambassadors for the first time. Girl Scout University became officially sponsored by a division of the University, as we are sponsored by the Longhorn Center for Community Engagement.
